Bottle-feeding with Breast Milk or Formula Milk

Returning to work after being a full-time mother can be confusing for both you and your baby. Think about what sort a feeding pattern will suit both of you. Some women decide that they do want to carry on breastfeeding even when they return to work, and they want as much of their baby’s milk as possible to be breast milk.

If you return to work while you’re still breastfeeding expressing milk will help you keep your milk supply up.

If this is true for you, then you will need to express milk so that you have a supply of breast milk for your baby’s bottles, Some women even manage to express milk while they’re at work. For others, breastfeeding isn’t so important any more, and they’re happy to move on to bottles of formula milk for all or most of their baby’s feeds.

A good balance

If you do continue to breastfeed when you return to work, you may find that your baby makes do with less bottled milk during the day while you’re at work, and increases her morning and evening breastfeeds. You may see this as a blessing, but it can also be a bind time-wise. Decide which it is in your case, and do whatever suits you best.

If you’re away from your baby(History of Baby Strollers) during the day, and you’re still breastfeeding, be aware that your breasts may leak some milk.
